Ready for a new verse?

This week Becky was able to accurately recite the memory verse from the previous two weeks.  CONGRATULATIONS!!!  If you also knew the memory verse but did not come see us please be sure to do so next week.  Our next memory verse will be from the book of Psalm and it is:

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
-Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

So now my questions to you are, what does this mean to you?  Why do you think that this verse is in the Bible?  Can you think of a time that it would be helpful to know this verse?  Just a few points to ponder until we meet next time!

***Thanks for feeding our class pet (the fish) but don't forget we also look forward to hearing from you and reading your comments.  : )

Memory Verse Application

We are trying something new in class.  We are striving to memorize verses in class that can provide us strength, guidance, etc . . .  You will be challenged to learn a new verse or small group of verses every other week.  Our first verse is 2 Corinthians 12:9.  The New King James version of this verse (although this is NOT the required version for memorization) states:

And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, My strength is made perfect in weakness."  Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power Christ may rest upon me.

Now comes the discussion part.  Can you think of a time when this verse "played out" in your life?   Has this verse ever comforted you or a family member?  Or if that is too personal, can you think of a time when this verse could be a comfort to you or someone that you know in the future?  There are no wrong answers, we just want to know how this verse can be applied in your life.  We look forward to reading your responses.

Welcome to Uphold 56 blog!

We are glad you stopped by.  Our goal in starting this blog is to keep you up to date and let you know what our class will be doing.  We can't wait to share what we're doing in our class with you.

We meet every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.  Currently, our Wednesday nights have been postponed for the summer, but we will start again in August.  We will announce the date that we will start back up.

By the way, our memory verse for tomorrow - Sunday July 24, 2011 is:  2 Corinthians 12:9.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning!
